Dan Mills is from Southend On Sea, Essex, United Kingdom. As a child he wanted to be a fire-fighter, however those plans changed throughout his teenage years.

TEDX Logo 1One of his biggest hobbies as a teenager was CB Radio and he became a radio anorak with CB Radio, Scanners and circuit boards. He joined DX Group – Tango Echo DX Group (TEDX), and when the position became available he built and designed their new website.

From the age of 16, Dan started dj’ing in bars and nightclub. He first spin on the desks was at ‘Outrage’ at ‘Adlib Nightclub’. His first resident DJ gig was a Friday night at ‘O’Neill’s Music Room’. From there he onto playing at nightclubs such as TOTS (Talk Nightclub), Ego Nightclub (Zero 6) and ‘The Kursaal’ bowling alley.

Dan joined Essex FM as an technical engineer at the age of 17, and when he was 18, he began radio presenting with Chris Brooks & Scott Robinson on the “Hot 30 countdown”. Dan went on to work with Neil Long and Liz Ssaul on the “Sunday morning breakfast show”. Dan’s other responsibilities at Essex FM were Producing programming and commercial material and controlling it.

In 2003 Dan work abroad a season in Tenerife at various different bars and clubs, including Bar 3 Euro and Bobby’s Bar.

In late 2004 Dan trained and graduated from the National Broadcasting School, University of Sussex, Brighton.

Dan continues to pursue a career in radio as a freelancer and can be seen regularly as a guest DJ at The Penthouse, London.
